“Stabbed & Shot 2”: New Album By Benny the Butcher & 38 Spesh
It’s been six years since Benny The Butcher and 38 Spesh teamed up for the fan-favorite album Stabbed & Shot. On October 18, 2024, the wait ends, as Benny and Spesh have officially announced the much-anticipated sequel, Stabbed & Shot 2. In the time since their first collaboration, both artists have grown significantly, evolving both musically and in terms of their reputations in the hip-hop world.
For Benny The Butcher, 2024 has already been a landmark year. After releasing his major label debut album Everybody Can’t Go through Def Jam, he followed it up with two more projects: Summertime Butch and Buffalo Butch, Vol. 1. The latter included a long-awaited collaboration with Drake. Benny’s ability to fuse gritty street lyricism with a rising mainstream appeal has established him as one of the most versatile voices in hip-hop today. With Stabbed & Shot 2, Benny returns to his roots, teaming up with 38 Spesh once again for another round of sharp storytelling and street hustle themes.
Meanwhile, 38 Spesh has also had an impressive year, most notably with the release of his critically acclaimed project Mother & Gun. This album has brought him even more recognition, showcasing his dual talents as both an emcee and a producer.
Benny and Spesh understand the weight of expectations for Stabbed & Shot 2, especially given the success of the original. However, they thrive under pressure, and the sequel aims to surpass its predecessor. Known for delivering gritty, street-focused narratives and vivid lyricism, Benny and Spesh have honed their chemistry even further. The result is a masterclass in street wisdom and lyrical dexterity, reminiscent of iconic duos like Jadakiss & Styles P.
The chemistry between the two is on full display in Stabbed & Shot 2, blending their distinct styles effortlessly. They continue to deliver the barred-out, vivid storytelling that has defined their careers. The album showcases their growth and resilience, both as artists and entrepreneurs, proving that their collaborative magic is stronger than ever.
The project’s lead single, “Jesus Arms,” features a co-sign from the legendary Busta Rhymes, who boldly states, “After hearing Stabbed & Shot 2, you better start rethinking your top 5.” Benny and Spesh pick up that challenge, using the track to demonstrate why they deserve a place among the best. Along with “Jesus Arms,” the duo has also released another single, “Brick Specials,” both of which are available now on all streaming platforms.
Benny The Butcher emphasizes the authenticity of the project, saying, “Stabbed & Shot 2 is a sound that can only come from experienced street hustlers. There’s pride in where we come from because it made us who we are, but this is intellectual street dialect with the benefit of hindsight.” He continues, “When Spesh and I go back and forth, you know what you’re getting. You’d have to talk to Nas & AZ, or Kiss & Styles to even compare.”
38 Spesh echoes that sentiment: “When me and Benny trade bars, it’s trouble. We’re the best to do it, no question. Stabbed & Shot 2 is coming, and it’s that time again!”
Stabbed & Shot 2 features guest appearances and production from heavyweights like Busta Rhymes, Dave East, Ransom, Harry Fraud, Daringer, ElCamino, OT The Real, Bink, V Don, Klass Murda, and StreetRunner.
The album will be released on October 18, 2024, through BSF/TCF Records.
